It seems I’m too lazy to blog. At least I am right now. Where right now means today, this week, this month, and so on and so forth.
I just have too many irons in the web fire, and they are taking all my time. Plus I’m fairly lazy at the best of times. So y’all gonna have to wait a while longer for my next pearl of wisdom. It’s not like nothing exciting is happening in my life. Work finished on the new toilets at work the other day.
I kid you not.

I tell ya - it was the hot topic of conversation during the day.
Some days I wonder if my job is as fulfilling as I’d like it to be.

Today’s Xrefer Friday Brainteaset is mostly straightforward.
Greetings!
Welcome to the Friday Brainteaser from Xrefer, provider of the Xreferplus online reference service.
Shapes
Things can be a lot of different shapes: squares, circles, rectangles, etc. Test your knowledge of geometric shapes by trying to answer these questions.
Questions:
- What is the normal word for one half of a circle?
- Which word is used to describe a triangle that has all its sides of equal length?
- How many sides does a quadrilateral have?
- A rectangle is the same as an oblong: true or false?
- What is the word to describe a triangle that has two sides of the same length?
- How many sides does a pentagon have?
- What is the two-letter word for the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter? Its value is about 3.14.
- How many sides does a dodecagon have - six, eight or twelve?
- What is a wet nurse?
- How many sides does a rhombus have?
The answer to Q9, in case you’re not sure, is given as:
One that has sides of unequal length

I’m a sucker for them, I really am. Any half-decent “what kind of online test are you most fond of” test, and I’m there. Today: Humour. And here are the results of the jokester jury - I like the flattering comparisons to Woody Allen and Ricky Gervais, and I’m quietly confident that when either of them takes the test they will be compared to that bloke who occasionally updates his blog and who wrote a kick-ass poker hand converter. Surely.
the Wit
(66% dark, 19% spontaneous, 10% vulgar) |
your humor style: CLEAN | COMPLEX | DARK
You like things edgy, subtle, and smart. I guess that means you’re probably an intellectual, but don’t take that to mean pretentious. You realize ‘dumb’ can be witty–after all isn’t that the Simpsons’ philosophy?–but rudeness for its own sake, ‘gross-out’ humor and most other things found in a fraternity leave you totally flat.
I guess you just have a more cerebral approach than most. You have the perfect mindset for a joke writer or staff writer.
Your sense of humor takes the most thought to appreciate, but it’s also the best, in my opinion.
You probably loved the Office. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check it out here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/.
PEOPLE LIKE YOU: Jon Stewart - Woody Allen - Ricky Gervais
