Last time I checked out my blog’s worth, according to the Technorati-using tool at www.business-opportunities.biz, this site was so worthless I might even have been plunged nominally into more debt.

Not so any more! Here’s some tasty proof-pudding.

My blog is worth $28,791.54.
How much is your blog worth?

Via Grammar Puss, I discovered Literally, a web log. And seeing that the widespread abuse of the word ‘literally’ is something I find particularly galling (you might say it literally gets on my wick, but then I’d have to hate you if you did), pretty damn happy I am to have happened upon it. Together, we might not be able to eradicate painful instances of literally, but at least we can point at the silly people and have a jolly good laugh.

People dancing badly underneath some fake-looking fireworks

Logged in this morning to see that my blog ranking at Technoranki has moved from a tantalising 8 to a highly improbable 9. Out of 9, if you don’t mind! (There aren’t any 10-rated blogs). I’m now a stone’s throw (distance and weight of stone not yet known) from the list of 50 top blogs. According to britblog. Which might not even be very popular itself, I suppose.

Another lovely car shot

No Smoking sign

I used to smoke Royals, which weren’t my brand of choice in the end, but they were cheaper than most others. Let’s call it 20-a-day, so we get a nice round number. Not only is that 4000 cigarettes that I haven’t smoked since I gave up, but it’s about £850 in my pocket.

Or at least it was until this weekend, because that’s almost exactly how much I spent on a car. Images of which will appear in due course.

After spending ages wondering why my google ads weren’t showing on this site, I finally had my duh moment, and realised adblock was filtering them out. Luckily, only a day later  I have found the solution.

Apparently all those @@ things at the bottom of the filter list (Go to Tools -> AdBlock -> Preferences and scroll down) are the whitelist bits that un-filter-out things.

If you ad:

@@*.googlesyndication.com

to the list, all will be well again, and you can once again see what ads Google has mysteriously chosen to place on your site. Apparently, readers of this blog might be interested in feminine hygiene bins…

A showy and grateful monday morning tip of the hat goes to this site for providing the answer:
