It’s taken me so long to get round to setting my blog up that at the moment, all I have is the July 2005 edition of “The Carrier” (Est:1988), a “FREE community magazine” for the Romsey area. Such is the pace of life in the Romsey area that we’re barely into August and already it mostly feels like old news.

You have probably read elsewhere about the Leckford Festival, or the opening of a restaurant within Cadnam Garden Center, and if “you’ve ever dug up a mystery object in your garden and wondered what it is”, I’m afraid you’ve missed your chance to have it identified at Eastleigh Museum, as the Archeological Finds Day took place on 28 July. So I won’t bore you with the details of those exciting events, but with any luck they’ll be covered in the August edition, which I should be able to pick up any day soon…

There is, though, a last chance to catch “Creatures of the deep: what lurks beneath Itchen Valley pond?” on Thursday 11th August. £2 per child it says here, but I don’t know whether that’s how much they’ll pay you for any you catch lurking, or an entry fee.
